We are primarily looking for comments and observations on the best way of changing the law and our specific proposals. Currently these are listed in proposals

You have made no mention of children! Perhaps you could add in another objective along the lines of

"4. Ensure any children are enabled to enjoy a similar standard of living and education"

Clearly this needs careful thought.

If the child flew around in a private helicopter during the marriage does that mean it should continue to do so after the divorce? If instead of getting divorced they went bankrupt or decided to live in a commune because they had "seen the light" would Social Services dash in to provide a helicopter for the kid? Probably not.

So, before they got divorced the kid lived in a huge mansion and went to Eton? At any time the parents could have changed that arbitrarily. Maybe decided he was getting to be a pain and needed to face the real world? Plenty of kids leave posh schools and go to less posh schools if the circumstances change. So, they get divorced - things have changed.

If he goes to live with the poorer party then he should be enabled to live decently and go to a reasonable school but not Eton ...

I think that's quite right - in fact drag all of them out of Eton and put them in the 'School of Hard Knocks!'
